Investor Portal — Investor Experience
See Core Concepts for the custody model, signing definition, NAV timing, and lifecycle stages this page assumes, and Investor Portal for how a fund manager configures the white-labeled domain and branding this experience renders under.
This page covers the investor's own side of that white-labeled portal — a separate app from the fund-manager dashboard, with no shared routes or session. An investor can only ever see funds they're active in or onboarding to (though they can explore other funds offered by that same organization), never other investors, never any fund-manager admin data, and never funds under other organizations.
Signing In
Investors sign in with email and password — not a magic link or one-time code.
- Investor receives an invite link from their fund manager (via onboarding, or a direct invite).
- They land on the white-labeled login/signup page. It shows the organization's branding, with a subtle "Powered by Tahoe" mark.
- On first access, they set a password for their account.
- They enter their email and password to sign in.
Every subsequent login is the same: email + password → Dashboard. A fund manager's own login credentials never work on the investor side, and vice versa — these are two entirely separate identity contexts.
Details unconfirmed
Not yet confirmed: whether there's a password-reset flow, any minimum password requirements, or whether 2FA is layered on top of the password for sign-in itself (separate from the 2FA used to authorize investment/redemption actions, per Core Concepts).
Dashboard
Summary tiles at the top:
| Tile | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total Invested | Confirmed invested amount across all funds. Always a real dollar figure — doesn't depend on NAV. |
| Current Value | Shares held, valued at the latest applicable NAV. |
| Realized Returns | Returns from completed redemptions. |
| Unrealized Returns | Paper gain/loss on shares still held, based on current value versus invested amount. |
Before an investor has any position, all four tiles simply show $0 — not a placeholder like "Awaiting finalized NAV." A zero position doesn't need to reference NAV at all.
Portfolio Performance chart, filterable by 30D / 90D / ALL — the investor's own value over time, not a fund-wide chart. Empty state: "No performance data for this period."
My Funds — the investor's positions, one row per fund they're in, with actions to invest more or request a redemption from that fund. Includes an "Explore more funds" button, top right of the section header, scoped to funds under the investor's own fund-manager organization only — never a cross-organization marketplace, consistent with the white-label boundary. Clicking into a fund opens its Fund Detail page. Empty state: "No fund positions yet."
Pending Actions — anything currently waiting on the investor. See Pending Actions below. Empty state: "No pending actions. You're all caught up."
Recent Activity — a condensed feed of the investor's own recent events. Empty state: "No recent activity yet."
Fund Detail
The investor's drill-down into a single fund, reached from a My Funds card or from Explore More Funds. One long, scrollable page — the section labels below the header (Overview, Performance, Data-Room, Transactions) are anchor links that scroll to a section on this same page, not separate routes.
Route unconfirmed
Assumed something like /investor/funds/:id. Not verified against any actual route.
Page order, top to bottom:
- Header — fund name, with a square icon (matching the text's height) immediately to its left.
- Anchor navigation — Overview / Performance / Data-Room / Transactions, directly below the header.
- Performance — at the top of the page: AUM, NAV/share, and APY shown together, plus the NAV chart for this fund.
- Your position — the investor's own numbers for this fund specifically: shares held, current value, total invested, unrealized returns. Sits below Performance, not above it.
A sticky Invest / Redeem panel sits alongside this content on the right for the full scroll — no third "Bridge" tab.
Invest / Redeem Panel
- Two tabs: Invest and Redeem.
- Invest tab: a funding-method dropdown — Stablecoin or Fiat — populated from whichever the investor has connected in Settings. No wallet-connect button and no chain/token picker. Investor enters an amount; as they type, the panel shows the approximate number of shares that amount would receive, with a visible caveat that it's an estimate based on the last recorded NAV and the final price is set at execution.
- Redeem tab: investor enters the number of shares to redeem; as they type, the panel shows the approximate payout amount, same estimate-caveat wording.
- From here, the flow is exactly what's described in Invest Panel and Redeem Panel below.
Invest Panel
- Investor chooses a funding method — stablecoin or fiat (or the panel opens directly into whichever method applies, if the investor only supports one).
- Investor enters the amount they want to invest; the panel shows the approximate share count as described above.
- If the amount fits within their current remaining capacity for this fund, the panel proceeds straight to confirmation.
- If the amount exceeds their remaining capacity, the panel prompts them to sign a new subscription agreement to proceed — the investor fills in their intended amount and e-signs, same flow as onboarding's subscription agreement — before returning to complete the investment at the now-higher cap.
- Stablecoin path: after the amount is confirmed within capacity, a final review step (amount, fund) and a Confirm action lock the investment — the Locked stage.
- Fiat path: after the amount is confirmed within capacity, the panel displays the fund's designated bank transfer details and instructs the investor to complete the transfer outside the app. A Transfer Submitted button tells the fund manager the transfer is on its way — this is what puts the investment into Locked, awaiting the manager's Accept.
- Closing: a success confirmation, or the investor can cancel/dismiss with no changes made.
Redeem Panel
- Panel shows the investor's current shares held in this fund.
- Investor enters how many shares (or a dollar amount, converted to shares) they want to redeem; the panel shows the approximate payout as described above.
- Panel shows the estimated redemption value, with the disclaimer that the final amount is subject to change at execution — see Core Concepts.
- Confirming locks the redemption request — shares held, not yet burned, per the corrected redemption model.
- Closing: a success confirmation, or the investor can cancel/dismiss with no changes made.
Anchor Sections (Left Column)
These sit in the main content column, to the left of the sticky Invest/Redeem panel — not below it. Overview and Data-Room are new content beyond what's already covered in the page order above:
- Overview — fund description, key terms.
- Performance — see page order above (AUM, NAV/share, APY, and the chart).
- Data-Room — the subset of Data-Room that belong to this fund (offering materials, term sheet, reports), rather than "General."
- Transactions — this fund's transaction history, same simple list as Transactions, filtered to just this fund.
Planned for V2 — Fund Details info block
A block of basic fund facts (issuer, strategy/asset type, structure, domicile, eligibility, inception date, management fee, minimum investment, liquidity terms), positioned below the Invest/Redeem panel on the right — matching where it sits on a reference fund page Jay shared. Skipped for V1, revisit for V2. Crypto/DeFi-specific fields from that reference (Ratings, Accepted stablecoins, Available networks, Service providers, Oracle) are intentionally excluded, not just deferred — they don't fit Tahoe's positioning.
Transactions
A simple, filterable list of the investor's own investments and redemptions — not the granular per-lifecycle-event view Ledger shows a fund manager. Each row shows the transaction (investment or redemption) with a plain status: Pending, Complete, or Error.
Data-Room
Two distinct flows, not one undifferentiated list:
- Fund manager → investor, informational — reports, statements, fact sheets. Arrives as-is, nothing required back.
- Fund manager → investor, action required — something the manager needs back, e.g. a document requiring signature (a transfer-of-funds authorization, an address-change confirmation). Visibly distinct from flow 1 — carries an Action Required category and status, and also surfaces as a Pending Action on the Dashboard so the investor doesn't have to remember to check Data-Room separately.
Separately, the investor can send a document to the fund manager on their own initiative via a "Send a document" action (not a large, default-open upload dropzone — this is a secondary action). Before submitting, a draft upload can be discarded; once actually sent, no document is ever deleted, in either direction.
Document list: chronological, most recent first, with category (Monthly Report / Statement / Fact Sheet / Action Required / Investor Submission / Other), which fund it belongs to (or "General"), date, and status. Whether a document was sent to all investors in bulk or targeted specifically to this investor is manager-side information only — the investor doesn't see or need to know which.
Onboarding
Onboarding happens once per fund-manager organization, not once per fund. The investor's first onboarding — KYC info, the assigned onboarding form, e-signed subscription agreement — becomes their standing profile for that org. Occasionally, depending on the fund, the investor may need to refresh their onboarding from time to time.
Applying to an additional fund under the same org is not normally a full re-onboarding. It still goes through manager review — the manager needs to confirm eligibility, get a fund-specific subscription agreement signed, and confirm the investor is legally permitted to invest in that fund — but it does not require resubmitting the KYC/profile information already on file. If the new fund requires something the investor's existing profile doesn't cover (e.g. a declaration their profile doesn't include), they add that specific piece rather than starting over. If a fund manager does need a fresh onboarding for a fund, they can request it, but it is not the standard process.
Communications
An email-style inbox of threads with the fund manager, not a live chat screen — a list of threads on the left, and a panel opens on the right showing the full back-and-forth of whichever thread is selected. Each "New Message" starts a fresh thread; replying to a message keeps it in that same thread rather than starting a new one. See Communications & Document Sharing for the full model, shared with the fund-manager side.
Settings
Investor-editable account details: contact info, notification preferences.
Connected accounts, shown only when relevant to how the investor actually invests:
- Tahoe-provisioned wallet address — shown only if the investor is a crypto investor; hidden entirely otherwise, since a fiat-only investor has no reason to see or think about a wallet.
- Bank account details — shown for fiat funding.
Pending Actions
Surfaces anything currently waiting on the investor, pulled from elsewhere in the product rather than being its own separate system:
- Complete or resubmit onboarding (KYC, onboarding form, subscription agreement)
- A document requiring action (see Data-Room)
- A communication ready for them to review
- Sign a new subscription agreement (e.g. after requesting increased capacity, or applying to an additional fund)
- Claim issued shares — a manual step today, not automated (see Core Concepts)
- Claim redemption proceeds — same manual-claim caveat, stablecoin only (fiat redemption has no separate claim step)
Out Of Scope
Carried forward from earlier product scoping, still true:
- Per-fund branding (one brand per organization, not per fund)
- Investor-to-investor visibility, in any form
- Two-way video or audio communications
- A custom email-template builder (system emails use the organization's branding automatically)
- A native mobile app (responsive web only)
Open Items
- Settings has not been spec'd in detail yet.
